Paris celebrated the Olympic Day transforming the heart of the Ville Lumière, from the Eiffel Tower to Notre Dame along the River Seine, into a gigantic sports park. The giant celebration zone offered the chance to sample more than 30 disciplines. Didier Seminet, who is the President of the Confederation of European Baseball and of the French Baseball and Softball Federation, welcomed to his stand the new French Minister of Sport Laura Flessel. Olympic Day marks the occasion on 23 June 1894, when Baron Pierre de Coubertin established the International Olympic Committee (IOC) at the Sorbonne in Paris. |
