Guatemala sweep first round of National Sports Games for Softball

GUATEMALA CITY – The first round of the Guatemala National Sports Games for softball has concluded. More than 170 male and female softball youth athletes from six regions of the country – Jutiapa, Retalhuleu, Suchitepéquez, Quetzaltenango, Huehuetenango and Guatemala – are participating.

During Opening Ceremonies at the Diamante Carlos Larrañaga Gomar National Stadium, Héctor Sazo, president of the Guatemala Softball Association, took the opportunity to deliver 20 donated softball starter kits to the regional associations.

The WBSC donated the kits, worth over US$25,000, with each kit containing enough equipment for two teams to immediately play a game.
